I love reading and I love watching television. So I thought it would be fun to write a blog about my favorite shows and books in an effort to lighten up on my blog a little bit. Right now I'm watching the results show for So You Think You Can Dance. I only started watching this show last season and I need to find out how to watch previous seasons because I love this show. It's just fun to watch, as some of you know boyfriend calls it "I wish they would all break an ankle" needless to say he doesn't watch it with me. I had been thinking about writing blogs about this show specifically like a review which I might still do but will likely wait until it's top ten because 16-20 people to review is too much.
I'm reading a book call Mrs. Perfect right now by Jane Porter. It is what I call a fluffy novel. Total chick lit, totally carefree. I like reading because I find myself diving into another person's life and leaving my own. This particular book is about a type A woman who marries the perfect man and has the perfect life on the outside but inside is falling apart. I've been to Barnes and Noble twice in two weeks and have acquired 5 new books, already finished one on a recent mini vacation to St Louis. Save Me by Lisa Scottoline. She is one of my favorite authors, I have literally read every book she has written that's fiction. She normally writes legal thrillers but this most recent book was not but still wonderful. Today I picked up Janet Evanovich's new book, she writes a number series and I've read all these as well. The main character of these books is a super funny Italian gal. I also love reading the Women's Murder Club series by James Patterson, I am a book behind right now but hopefully will get caught up. I took a break from reading for quite a while, not sure why may have been busy getting divorced, moving and having a blast with boyfriend. I just now got back into it and realized how much I missed it. There are so many other authors I like so I'll just run through them real quick: Jane Green, Emily Giffin (though her last two weren't grand), Jodi Piccolt, Jennifer Weiner and Patricia Cornwell.
Okay back to television, most of my blog readers know I love Sex and the City, Gilmore Girls, Dawson's Creek and Felicity. These are all the type of shows that I could watch over and over and over and do. Felicity started my love obsession with JJ Abrams and I love anything he does. Alias is another one of my favorite shows, then he did Lost which I also loved even though I really never understood what the hell was going on. Glee just came on, another show I really enjoy though I think it's lost some of it's appeal. Again I won't go into huge details but another few shows I like to watch: Bethenny Ever After, The Little Couple, Franklin and Bash, Body of Proof, Friday Night Lights, All Kardashian shows, Big Bang Theory, The Office, 30 Rock, Grey's Anatomy, was watching Private Practice but think I'm done, Fringe, Mike and Molly, Weeds, and Nip/Tuck to name a few.
It's just so fun to watch or read something that can just take you away from real life for a while and live in someone else's world. Maybe some of these books or shows will appeal to you too.
